About the Project

A robot discovers a small bird in its final moments of life — and in that silence, something unexpected surfaces: grief. Without dialogue, through gesture, weight, and stillness alone, the sequence explores a fundamental question in AI-generated storytelling: can a non-human character communicate a recognizably human emotion?

The study evaluates AI's capacity for emotional nuance in mechanical characters — testing whether generative tools can sustain the subtlety required for contemplative, dialogue-free narrative filmmaking where the entire emotional weight rests on performance and stillness.
